I want to cover in a checkerboard pattern, I could just make squares and sewing them as I go toghter??? And also any advice would be appreciated as I know anything Hardley. Knitting is a combination of knit and upside down with variations. You can make squares and sew or crochet together later. I agree with Donya one of the easiest ways to make the garter or stockinette (knit one row, the following line in reverse) into blocks, then sew or crochet together.
