Food Service GlovesWorking in food service with herpes on your hands?

I'm starting to feel guilty for working in food service with Herpes Whitlow on my hands. I can not wear gloves because of sweat when my boss makes me wash my hands every 30 minutes. But I'm beginning to think he is anyway bad because I touch all the food and it is very contagious, so if someone is eating it with chapped lips or open sore in the mouth that it 'they can contract it. Should I quit my job?

This should be against health regulations!

Could you wear thin cotton gloves under normal gloves or simply put up with the sweating?

Transmission of herpes involves direct skin to skin contact. Whitlow, for example, is often obtained by a health care worker coming into contact with a patient's mouth or saliva using his fingers to his mouth.

I can not imagine how the handling of food that is later used to allow transportation from the site mentioned below. "The herpes virus can not survive outside the human body for more than a few seconds." I do not think you should be concerned if your boss is to obtain information from your doctor. You may have to pay for a form letter but it should save your work.

Herpes is very contagious that although there are signs of a break on, it is only marginally able to be transmitted when you do not get out.
Herpes does not survive in food or high temperatures for more than seconds. It is also not survive on objects for long periods of time.
They are not likely to contract herpes this way, if you stuck your fingers in their mouth while you took a break on you could possibly send.
Wash hands frequently could trigger a burst, especially if your laundry while you wash. Your boss obviously do not know much about herpes.

I never found a job with food, knowing that you have herpes on your hands there is always that small chance ...
