Do Greyhounds Make Good Pets? greyhounds are dedicated, courageous, sensitive, intelligent, and often quite laid-back.
They are perfect for young families with children, and are very obedient. This breed is best known for his speed and agility that makes them exceptional racing dogs. they have other talents include good watchdogs, observation and hunting, while Greyhounds do make a good choice of pet.
They have a lovely temperament, even in the two lines of sight and running, but are often underestimated because they are, sometimes they can be quite shy to strangers, and sometimes their owners. Often, they are very sensitive to tone of voice used, they are known not to respond to the statement if they feel they are stronger in spirit, and do not react well worth negative.

Their fur is short and smooth colors range from brindle, black, white, tan, gray, blue or fallow, and a combination of these colors with a white coat. Because of their short coats, they are easy to maintain as long as they combed weekly. They do not require regular shampoo only when necessary as they are fairly clean dogs, good for people who normally have allergies that dogs do not produce hair than other breeds because they have more oil in their skin making them almost shed and odorless.
These dogs do not mind urban living environments, but still need regular, moderate exercise on a daily basis. They are inside dogs but also enjoy the freedom to play outside. Their food requirements are not strict, but it may be preferable to feed two to three servings a day instead of smaller main meal.
Greyhounds can be susceptible to bloat and have been known to be very sensitive to insecticides and drugs. Some are allergic to anesthetics. Their skin is sensitive enough that you might need to be aware of what it can tear easily. Check with your veterinarian before using certain products on your dog, as some treatments against fleas can be harmful to your pet.
As some races, greyhounds are not prone to hip dysplasia and can normally live to 10-12 years.
