Laptop Backpack

Posted on January 20, 2010.
Laptop BackpackWhat material are made from kits?

I want to build a carrying case for a large computer tower. I would like the outer material of the case to be the same / similar to the one often used in portable cases, backpacks and a few suitcases. It's like a fabric with a waterproof carrier.

URL stores to purchase online in the UK would be extremely useful.

Also, if anyone knows the name, or may provide a material for the soft lining, which would also be great!

The exterior is sometimes neoprene - similar to what wetsuits are made from. If it is not hard enough for indoor use and make the outer shell of Cordura fabric is very difficult as nylon backpacks and others are made from.

There are many Corudra on eBay. It is available in a variety of weights - you have to do a little research to choose which is most appropriate for you.
Again, eBay has a lot of neoprene, also.

Looks like you are talking packcloth coated or coated or covered with Cordura Oxford polyester or nylon.

The only sources I am aware of in the United Kingdom that would have it: http://www.pennineoutdoor.co.uk/catalogu ... and http://www.profabrics.co.uk/ But I am the wrong side of the pond to be answering a final here. You do not know what you see as a "soft lining" ... backpacks and sport bags here are generally unlined. The box of laptop I had time to consult is Cordura laminated to neoprene padding and then dividing inside what appears to be a slight packcloth.
