Muslim Head Scarf

Posted on December 31, 2009.
Muslim Head ScarfAm I allowed to wear the veil if I am not a Muslim?

I wear scarves for over 4 years that could even be regarded as the hijab. Two years ago, when I started my studies at university, I got to know some Muslims. They do not seem to mind, but now I'm always a little concerned because it is considered a religious symbol to many ... So, as I do not want to hurt anyone, I want to know:

If I'm careful to wear appropriate clothes and I take care of my behavior, too, can I continue to wear the hijab or is it by any means offend the Muslim community in my city? Is there a decision that I could follow?

Thank you very much for your response and patience

A girl concerned

PS: I would really appreciate if you guys do not bite my head ...

Live and let my dear life! If you like it. Wear it. You do not need anyone's permission to wear what you want. Some days I wear a salwar kameez although not native to the East Indies. Some people look at me with a WTF? "Expression, but I find them beautiful and comfortable.

This is why it is called free will :-)

No, they do not care.

Do not women who have undergone chemotherapy to cover his head, too?

Also, I do not know if they do more, but national Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) used to have what is called "Wear a Hijab Day".

The Muslim woman in Los Angeles was killed in a hate crime 5 years ago because she wore a hijab, so that the MSA asking people to wear the hijab that day anyway.

I suggest not to call him "hijab" (such as * do * have religious connotations), but there is nothing wrong with wearing a head covering, even if you are a non-Muslim. Hey, if you visit a mosque, they are often offended if women do * not * cover their heads, regardless of faith. It is an expression of modesty.

Yes, you can continue to wear your hijab, I know many people where I live that wear hijabs, they are granted Muslims. But I do not despise people for what they wear.

Do not worry, you're right, there are millions of people who do worse things out there, then the appropriate clothing.

I am a Muslim, but frankly, I do not know why someone would do that. Most Muslims do not wear the hijab in the 20s to the 60s and maybe 70 and you're not even a Muslim and want to wear one. But if you want that is also very good.

My mother and many other women wore scarves to keep their hair well-controlled and other reasons ...

It's not like Christmas where some believers feel they have the only group entitled to claim for religious reasons ...

Do what you like and do not worry about someone else. The BTW am Muslim and I am not bothered that you want to cover your head. I congratulate you, in fact:)

head scarves are not just for one religion or another. Christian women used to be required to cover their hair in church back in the day. My grandmother always wears a headscarf in public and shes Irish Catholic

yes

Yes, of course, my dear.

If you live in a free country, then wear whatever you like.

nahhh ... why should we mind?;)

Do you know why there was a sharp increase in cases of Ricketts? Hijabs etc. block the sunlight and thus you deprive your body of vitamin D. BTW the black shrouds are not even part of their "religion" is a fad. I do not want anyone to think I was a Muslim should not cover all the hair so paranoid.
