Silk Squares

Silk SquaresHow do I interpret this comment (about style)?

Well, a few days ago I was at Macy's Union Square in San Francsico. I was on my break from work, and was fitted up (I am manager of the hotel) will be wearing a black two-button suit Ralph Lauren (like http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index ... I am a little broader in the shoulders) with a starched white shirt and black striped tie and a red silk narrow tie with a pin and had shined my shoes the night before, so I thought I looked pretty spry.

As I leave, this young Asian girl with a voice airheady goes, "Oh, excuse me, sir?" and I stopped, asked what was happening, and she goes, the perfume is on sale now, or is it $ 79? "I was like," I do not work here, "and she apologized and bright red.

This is not a big deal, but I do not necessarily want to project the image of a store clerk when I wear an outfit that made me nearly ten to seven hundred dollars from top to bottom . I'm in my mid-20 and I'm young enough for the job and I am a bit self-conscious about the way people look at me as a result. How do you interpret this / What would you think of a young man dressed like that?

Thank you,
SP Martini

I think what you wear every day is very good. When I go to a hotel, I would like to see the director in a nice suit with a shirt and tie. I expect the same thing as Macy's. Do not you wear a second thought you're dressed appropriatley for the job and you just happened to be somewhere people dressed the same.
