White WalletI cannot import my videos in Windows Movie Maker?

I recently downloaded Windows Movie Maker 2.6 on my vista because of error on the Vista verson and now I can not find my videos that I want to import I can find, but I have to change the file type I want to check all files and when I find and click on Import I get this error code: The file C: portfolio \ Users \ Public \ Videos \ Sample Videos time \ red and white tape 2 -3.MOV is not a file type supported, and it can not be imported into Windows Movie Maker.
How do I fix what I can change the file type and if so how?

According to Microsoft, although for the XP version (I do not think it changes a lot in the Vista version), the files of public support for the import-measure are the following:
Video files:. asf,. avi,. wmv
Video files: MPEG1,. mpeg,. mpg,. m1v. mp2
Audio files:. wav,. snd,. au,. aif,. aifc,. aiff
Windows Media files:. Asf,. Wm. Wma,. Wmv
Still images:. Bmp,. Jpg,. Jpeg,. Jpe,. JFIF,. Gif
MP3 format audio:. MP3

That means you'll need another application to convert your. Mov to a file type supported. While searching, I found an example (of many):
http://www.xilisoft.com/mov-converter.html

Using any such converter usually requires that the file and the program - once installed, you simply import the file to convert and use the integrated interface for doing so. Instructions vary from one program to the, but in general they provide a help section.

Once converted to AVI, WMV, or any other file of your choice (I prefer AVI or MPEG), you can simply import the converted file in your document and start Movie Maker!

Windows Movie Maker (WMM) does not support files. Mov (Quicktime).

You can modify these files, you must first convert to avi, wmv or other format that will be managed by WMM.

So, do a search on "how to convert files to avi mov" and you should get the answer / software you need.

Remember that some AVI files are not supported by WMM avi because they are marked, they are actually DivX (or encoded with other codecs not native to WMM). In this case, you should also look for software, this time: "DivX" and install.

Good luck!
